Coastguard adds chopper to aerial search for missing diver

Coastguard on Saturday deployed a helicopter in the search for a diver missing from a Safari off the coast of Fuvahmulah City.

Despite expanding the search for the 45 year old tourist with the use of seaplane, the diver remains missing since last Sunday.

Several coastguard and private vessels have continued the search for the 45 year old tourist who had gone missing while diving at the Fuvahmulah Diving Point.

A fishing vessel had found a diving jacket and an oxygen tank around 150 miles off the point where the diver went missing.

The gear has been handed over to the police but it remains unclear if the gear belonged to the missing diver.
